What Do I Enter for AGI if I Didn’t File Last Year?

When you file your taxes online, you must electronically sign your return by providing your prior year adjusted gross income (AGI) or Self-Select PIN. If you did not file an income tax return last year, use “$0” as your AGI.

If you’re using ezTaxReturn, you will be asked “Did you file a tax return last year?”, select “No”.

Our program will enter “$0” as your prior-year AGI. On the next page, you will be required to create a self-select PIN and enter your date of birth to sign your federal return. The PIN can be any 5-digits you choose, but it cannot be all zeroes.
